Hey! I’m Katie.

I am queer, trans, fat, mad, neurodivergent and Disabled person who uses they / them pronouns.

I have worked with Disabled people, in the youth sectors and early years, for over 10 years. I am also a community researcher exploring healthcare inequity for both transgender and Disabled people.

I have published on Autistic people’s experiences of cancer services, substance use services, and gender identity healthcare. I have also spoken at the Houses of Parliament on cancer service inequity for Disabled and neurodivergent people (Feel free to find out more on ResearchGate).

I am available for training and consultation, with particular experience and expertise in accessibility, LGBT / GSRD experiences, and mental health.

I love reading, playing D&D, and watching wrestling. I also love spending time with my little family, they are who I strive to better the world for.

  1. Congrats, that’s a big step! Happy to have the resource and follow along. I’m a middle-aged late diagnosed ADHDer and am fairly certain I’m Autistic as well. Mustering up the courage to do the same, and share my experience navigating the world… eventually.

    • Hey! Welcome aboard. Thank you, it has taken me some time to get here what with a pandemic and poor executive function but i will say having a creative avenue has been really helpful for me to work out who I am post diagnosis. Let me know if you’d like any help and feel free to add me on twitter if you’re there @social_parasite

  2. Thank you for your passion and research in this field. With knowledge comes understanding, and with understanding comes acceptance. We cannot change the world, but we can make it a little better every day. Keep doing what you do best!
